Definitie: een urineweginfectie zonder aanwijzingen voor weefselinvasie of systemische symptomen
Een asymptomatische bacteriurie bij een zwangere wordt behandeld als een cystitis, ongeacht de zwangerschapsduur.
Wanneer een groep-B-streptokok gekweekt wordt bestaat de indicatie voor antibiotische profylaxe rond de baring, waarvoor consult gynaecoloog.
