Start ook met dexamethason 4 dd 10 mg iv; 4 dagen.

General comments

Bij positieve kweek therapie aanpassen

Vervolgbeleid indien kweek na 48 uur negatief

  • Bij gebruik van antibiotica (oraal of iv) voorafgaand aan LP en KNO focus als meest waarschijnlijk -> ceftriaxon door, amoxicilline stoppen in afwachting PCR liquor.
  • Bij geen antibioticagebruik voorafgaand aan LP en geen duidelijke focus -> ceftriaxon + amoxicilline continueren in afwachting van PCR liquor. Indien kweek en liquor PCR negatief -> door met amoxicilline

Dexamethason staken indien geen sprake blijkt van bacteriele meningitis.
